Forever Gone
The first story I finished and is about 130 pages.
The first chapter
March 23, 2000
“George,” my mom called. My dad came rushing in the living room.
“Yes,” he said. He was wearing his new jeans that mom and I had picked out for him. I giggled. He saw me giggling and came over.
“What is so funny, huh,” he asked. I giggled again. Mom smiled.
“What is so funny,” dad asked again.
I smiled. “You’re wearing new jeans. Me and mommy picked them.”
Mom’s smile was brighter now. “Oh yeah I totally forgot about them.”
Dad rolled his eyes. “Tell me one thing you remember besides on your vampire novels.”
“Vampire, I love them,” I said.
“God, Faye, once you meet one you won’t like it,” mom said popping into one of the seat. “You could love them now when you’re seven, but you won’t love them once you grow older.”
“Seriously Lorraine, ‘You won’t love them once you grow older’,” dad said taking his seat. I took a seat next to mom.
“It’s true,” mom said putting a bagel in the microwave.
“There aren’t any vampires in this world,” dad said taking a sip of his coffee.
Mom shrugged.
“Stay away from me,” Greg shouted from the living room. He came in the kitchen with Spike, our dog. “Mom can’t you make Spike stay away from me. He was in my room when I was changing.”
Mom laughed. “What did you think the dog wanted to see you naked?”
Dad and I laughed. I guess that’s the humor of an author.
“Dad,” Greg complained.
“Alright, alright you put some food in his tray, he’ll stay away from you,” dad answered setting his newspaper down. Greg moaned.
Mom got up and poured food into Spike’s tray. Spike immediately ran away from Greg and went to gobble his food down.
“Thank god,” he said and started to eat his bagel.
Dad looked at the time. “Gotta go.”
He got up and gave mom a kiss on the cheek. “Ew,” Greg complained again.
I frowned. “Greg you complain a lot.”
“Yeah I do. Mom I’m going to Martin’s house today,” my brother said. “We have to this Social Studies project together.”
“Okay, when?”
“At ten, which is like less than twenty minutes,” Greg answered. “Martin’s dad is going to drive me to the library.”
“God, like you couldn’t tell me earlier than this,” mom said.
He shrugged.
“Bye honeys,” dad said and went out the door. Like usual, I look out the kitchen window and saw daddy went in the car and drove away. I went back to my seat. The doorbell rang. Mom went to get it.
“Mr. Nigh, good morning, yes he’s ready,” mom said. Greg drank his glass of milk and jumped out of the seat. He is only eleven, but he was already 5’5. The doctor said that he was tall for his age and if he keeps growing like this he’ll probably end up like six foot something. I, on the other hand, am short for a second grader. I’m not going to admit this to Greg, but I’m jealous of him. Mom and dad are both tall and I want to fit in the family too.
Greg left the house too; leaving only mom and I.
“Alright Faye, I’m going to my study room and you’re going to your room finishing up your little story,” she said cleaning the last dish.
I started to write my first story last week. I am already on page ten and I am proud of that. Mom promised me that she would edit my story and then publish it. I got excited about publishing my own books just like mom. I nodded and went upstairs to my room.
I took out my little notebook and started to write. My story was about how the small little rat saved the big lion. Mom read one to me about the turtle and the rabbit; how the turtle and the rabbit were racing, but the rabbit thought that he would definitely win so he decide to take a nap. At the end, the turtle won because he kept running without stopping. Mom said that this was a lesson, not that I know what lesson meant. But I knew that everything mom says is right because I just know. I got bored at the end and decided to go to mom’s study room downstairs. I took the stairs one by one until I reached to the bottom of the staircase. I knocked on mom’s door.
“Come in,” she said. I opened the door and saw her sitting at her desk. She was wearing one of her big, black framed glasses.
“Mommy,” I called. She looked up. She seemed surprised that it was me.
“Yes sweetie,” mommy said picking me up to her lap. I looked at her computers; she was writing her stories.
“You’re writing your story,” I said. She smiled.
“Yes I am, sweetie,” she said and she kissed my cheeks. I don’t know why she calls me sweetie, but I like it.
“What are you writing about,” I asked.
She looked at me puzzled. “About vampires of course.”
“I know, but why are you writing about vampires,” I asked. I didn’t know what vampires are, but I know they aren’t good because mom always say that you should be afraid once you see one.
She frowned like it was very, very hard to answer. Her wrinkles showed up on her forehead.
“Because I believed there are,” she finally answered.
“You believe in them,” I asked.
“Yes and one day I’m sure I’m going to meet one.”
“You’re going to meet one,” I repeated and my eyes widen. “You said you should be afraid of them.”
“Yes, yes, and yes I did, but I am very interested in it,” mommy answered.
“If they are so dangerous then why are you interested in it,” I asked.
“Like I said, I’m just interested and I don’t know why,” she answered. “Do you know why I named you Faye?”
I shook my head.
“Because your name means fairy and magical creatures and I believed in them all,” she answered.
“So my name has a meaning,” I asked.
She nodded. “Greg doesn’t have one does he?”
“He does have a meaning, but it isn’t as special as yours,” mommy answered.
I smiled. “I’m special.”
She smiled too and gave me a peck on my cheek. Suddenly, my eyes were very tired.
“Mommy, I’m very tired,” I whispered.
She nuzzled in my hair. “Then go to sleep.”
She started humming my favorite song, a song that I don’t know the name of and I fell asleep.

New Story
Chapter One: Evan
I hear noises.
I hear everything.
But none of these are important.
None of these bother me.
Because only she does.
I’m crazy now...
God, I hate the first day of school in Beacon. Everybody screaming at the top of their lungs. I raised the volume up of my ipod.
“Evan,” I heard someone screamed. I ignored him.
“Dude,” he said and he caught me.
I spun around. It was Tyler.
“Seriously,” he said. I couldn’t exactly hear what he was hearing from either my ipod or the screaming. All I hear was this “...erio...ly.”
He pointed at my earphones. I pulled it out.
“Hey, Ty,” I said trying to sound enthusiastic.
“Seriously, dude, don’t try to cheer yourself up because I know you’re not,” he said rolling his eyes. I had known Tyler for two years, but he seemed to have a lot in common with me. He just knows what I’m thinking about and what I like.
“Alright, I’m trying to be cool,” I said fumbling with my earphone.
“Hey guess what, I heard there’s this new hot girl that just transfer to Beacon,” he whispered in my ear like it was some kind of secret.
I raised my eyebrow. “So, it’s not like no new girl comes to Beacon every year.”
He nodded. “True.” And he walked away.
I got into first period class which is history right on time. Everybody around me was talking about the school dance and some were talking about who they were going to date this semester, it’s like they didn’t have anything better to say than this crap. The door swung opened and a girl with reddish brown hair came in. She glanced at my direction and her eyes were light violet, my eyes were unable to break away from it.
“Miss. St. Claire, you may sit in the back of the classroom,” Ms. Tate said without lifting up her head.
“Thank you,” she said and glided down the classroom. I mean she did glide down the classroom; one minute she was at the front of the classroom and then the next minute she was already at her seat and she had taken everything out of her book bag.
“As you know we started school late due to the flooding,” she said. “As you know Halloween in coming up soon in less than two weeks and as usually we talk about the vampire stories.”
The bell rang. I smiled relieved to get out of class, so I don’t have to hear about the stupid stories of vampires where they tell us every year when it comes to Halloween. Tyler caught up with me.
“Jesus, she was going to tell us about those vampire stories again, I mean don’t she get sick of saying it over and over all these years,” he said.
I smiled. “After all Rhode Island is Vampire Capital of America.”
He laughed. “Yep, I’m going to suck your blood.”
Just then someone’s book fell right on Tyler’s foot.
“Dang, watch wh...,” he started but he didn’t finished because right in front of him was the new girl. She was about six foot because she was like the same height as Tyler.
“I’m sorry,” she said. He bended down and picked it up for her.
“It’s alright.”
“Can I please have my book back,” she asked sticking her hand out.
“Yeah, sorry,” he said and he handed back her book. She walked out of the class room.
“What’s with you,” I asked.
“She is so hot, man,” Ty said ignoring my question. “She is so going to be going to the dance with me.”
I shook my head and headed off to art class.
Chapter Two: Evan
I went to art and handed Mr. Kingston my late pass, since I had to help Ms. Santiago move the boxes out of the hallway. I took a seat at the end of the room. In art we could sit anywhere we want and I usually like to sit in back where there is a window right next to me. Nobody ever like it in the back, which I don’t why; I love seeing the landscape of Rhode Island in art class, it gives me a feeling that can’t even be explained. The chair next to be rattled and I turned. It was the new girl. I noticed that she was wearing a black hoodie and black skinny jeans. On her left hand pointer finger she was wearing one of those senior rings in graduation from junior high school.
“You don’t mind of I sit here do you,” she asked.
“No,” I said and I moved my school bag so she could have more room.
“Thanks,” she said. “I’m Fallyn.”
Fallyn, what an unusual name; it sounds like an awkward version of fallen.
“Where are the paints,” she asked getting up.
“Oh there over there in the cabinets,” I answered. “Let me show you.”
I got up and she followed me to the cabinets. Stacey, the most popular girl in this school, got up and started to move toward us. Everybody knows that we should stay away from her because nothing good happens when she’s around. Fallyn took a bottle of blue, red, and white paint and started to mix the colors together. Stacey came over and looked at Fallyn’s shade of light lavender color paint, just like her eyes. I knew what was going to happen next.
“Stacey,” I said, but I was too late. The paint splashed all over Fallyn’s black hoodie. Stacey and Ashleh started cracking up.
“Well, look at that I added a sense of... paint into it,” Stacey said.
Fallyn looked up. “Would you like to apologize?”
Her voice was so calm, it was like nothing happened. Stacey never apologized to anyone.
“Do you know what you just said,” she said smiling.
“She told you to apologized,” Ashleh said. “Who do you think you are, the queen?”
They started to crack up. Fallyn smiled and she looked right into Stacey’s eyes.
“Would you like to apologize,” she repeated again. Stacey stopped laughing and was starring right into her eyes.
She swallowed loud. “I’m... sorry.”
Ashleh’s mouth dropped open.
“We should help her clean up,” Stacey suggested and she took a roll of paper towel out of the drawer.
“Are you girls alright,” Mr. Kingston asked, but then he saw me. “And guys.”
I mean he didn’t come a minute ago, why come now.
“Yep, I accidentally spilled Fallyn’s paint,” Stacey explained.
“Okay,” he said and he went back to his desk.
“I think I’ll go and change,” Fallyn said.
“I’ll help you,” Stacey offered.
“I’m fine going by myself,” she said.
“Oh,” Stacey looked disappointed.
Fallyn went out the classroom. I was starting to think that this was a dream because no way I just heard Stacey said sorry. I got back to work on my screwed up tree. The tree itself didn’t look right and the branches looked awkward. I ripped the paper out and trashed it.
I hear noises.
I hear everything.
But none of these are important.
None of these bother me.
Because only she does.
I’m crazy now...
