“Nothing,” he said. “You’re late.”
“Don’t let me hear that again,” Kristi instructed. “Bye.”
I opened the door for her. “Thank you,” she whispered as she passed by me. “I hope you have a good day.”
I nodded. I hoped that I would have a good day, but I know that it was nearly impossible. I closed the door behind and took the dishes to the sink.
“Mally,” Ned called.
“Yes,” I said, turning around.
“Are you upset?”
“Why?”
“I heard you screaming last night, did you see the monster under your bed,” he asked sounding innocent. I knew Kristi didn’t tell him what happened.
“No, I didn’t see the monster, I just had a bad dream,” I whispered turning back to do the dishes.
“Oh okay, it you do just tell me,” he said climbing up the stairs slowly since his legs were so short. “I’m going to be in my room.”
I nodded thinking about my dream from last night. I knew it wasn’t a dream though. I finished the dishes quickly and was about to head off to my room when the door bell rang. I remembered that the babysitter was going to be here today.
“Carson,” I heard Ned shouted. He seemed excited to see this Carson guy, just like how I use to be when I see Lyn. I opened the door and found a man, well not basically a man, leaning against the brick wall. He had light brown hair and dark olive green eyes. I smiled.
“I’m Mallory, just moved in,” I introduced.
“I’m Carson, Ned’s babysitter,” he replied. Ned came running to the door like a maniac. He jumped into Carson’s arm and Carson lifted him up like he was nothing.
“Carson,” he shouted and fiddled with Carson’s shirt. Carson carried him into the house and put him on the counter top. Ned compared to Carson was nearly nothing.
“So I’m finish with my job, I’m going to be in my room if you need me or anything,” I told Carson. He nodded and turned back to play with Ned. I climbed the stairs two at a time.
I settled into my chair and turned on my laptop. I remembered how Lyn told me that if you’re unhappy or anything you should write it out and express it on paper. I used to think it was stupid; I mean seriously expressing your words to paper is like talking to the paper.
I logged on to my blog. I scrolled down the page and clicked on new entry.
Day 215,
Today is 215 days since Lyn died. I had a dream about what happened the day of the accident, except that I know that it wasn’t a dream. Everyday, I’m nearly lifeless and every minute seems like hours or days, I’m really tired of this. Kristi seems really nice to me, but I just can’t take it that she is just so nice and... unafraid of me. Aunt Sarah was afraid of me because I tried to kill myself. Uncle Jim was afraid of me doing something to his son and daughter. No matter how much Kristi loves me, I know that deep inside her fear wins over her love. Nobody likes me not even myself.
I shut of the window as Carson opened the door behind me.
“Sorry, I kind of forgot to knock, but I was wondering wear the first aid kit is,” he asked.
“Are you hurt,” I asked standing up from the desk.
“No, no it’s not me,” he said guilty. “It’s Ned.”
I nodded. “He seemed like a child that would be getting hurt a lot from his jumpiness.”
I brushed past him and went in to the bathroom. I forgot what Kristi told me where the first aid kit was, but I happen to know where it was. Nothing makes sense in my life.
“Found it,” I said holding the first aid kit. “Where is he?”
“He’s in his room,” he said turning around and leading me to Ned’s room.
Ned was on the floor holding his bleeding finger like it was poisonous. I kneeled beside him.
“How could you get hurt in a room so small like this,” I asked taking peroxide out along with a Q-tip. I put it over the cut and got out a bandage.
“Hmm... Kristi didn’t say that you can’t get hurt in a small room,” he answered.
I smiled. “You’re going to be a good lawyer when you grow up, I mean like if you become one.”

Stories: Excerpt 3

“Did you have a good night sleep,” Kristi asked. I nodded and took a seat at the table. The floors started to shake as Ned ran into the room with his chubby looking legs.
“Ned,” Kristi shouted, crossing her arm across her chest. “What did I teach you?”
“Yes, sissy, never to run in the house,” he replied and took a seat right next to me. He gave me the biggest smile ever that made me smile back. Ned swung his tiny, small legs onto the chair, but he couldn’t the chair was too tall for him. Kristi came over and lifted him to the chair. He groaned.
“Why are these chairs so tall,” he asked looking at Kristi.
Kristi groaned like she was in pain. “God Ned you’re only four, how much shorter do you want these chairs to be.”
I smiled as Ned frowned and Kristi groaned again.
“So Mallory what are you going to do today,” Kristi asked putting the sunny side egg onto the plate.
“I, uh, haven’t thought about it,” I said. “Yet.”
Ned shook his head. “Mally, you’re supposed to stutter when you answer someone.”
He made me a cute little nickname. Mally.
Kristi gave him a glared. “Krisi, you’re the one that taught me that,” Ned answered to her glare.
Kristi rolled her eyes. “Would you stop calling me Krisi, it sounds like some kind of... cereal.” She frowned realizing what she said.
Ned shrugged.
“Oh yeah, Mallory, Carson is going to come over later to baby-sit Ned-dy,” Kristi informed and said Ned’s name to Neddy.
I smiled and nodded.
“Kisi, I think you’re late,” Ned said pointing at the clock with his chubby fingers. Kristi slapped her forehead with her hand. “Oh god, I forgot.”
She stumbled upstairs to get change, but then she stopped at the middle of the stairs. “Did you just call me Kisi?”
Ned nodded.
“Eww, it sounds like I’m making out with someone, Kiss-si,” she said again frowning at the way she’s pronouncing it.
Ned closed his eyes. “You’re very late.”
“Holy crow,” she shouted and she fled up the stairs again.
Ned looked at me. “Do you talk?”
I smiled. “Do I look like I talk?”
“You can’t look like you talk,” he said, but then he shrugged. “Maybe you can because I see your mouth moving.”
“Well then I am,” I whispered to him proudly and he giggled.
Kristi appeared at the kitchen again. She motioned her finger toward me. I climbed out of the chair and went to her. “That’s the IQ of four years old boy.” I smiled.
“Hey, no gossiping young ladies,” Ned said shaking his pointer. “It’s a no no.”
My smile turned bigger.
“Okay behave with Mallory and Carson will come later,” she instructed. “Yeah behave with him too.”
“Dang,” he whispered.
“What did you just say,” Kristi asked starring at him with horror.

Stories: Excerpt 2
“Let go,” I moaned as the person dragged me down the road. I couldn’t see Lyn anymore, but I could still see the car, how it was flipped over and that’s when I noticed that oil was leaking out of the car. I remember how car explodes when oil leaks out in movies. I screamed, shouting Lyn’s name, and I scratched the person’s hand.
He cried. It was a man.
“Let me go,” I screamed again. “Please.”
But he ignored me.
“Please,” I begged again, looking at the car. Then fire blazed up from the end of the car. I screamed, kicking everywhere. Then the fire went to the front of the car, where Lyn was. I cried her name, but I couldn’t see her.
The car exploded. I screamed at the top of my lung. And then I was knocked out.
I screamed, sitting up on my bed. My breath was unsteady and I was sweating all over. I was heaving.
The door slammed open. Kristi ran in and leaped onto my bed.
“Are you alright,” she asked. I tried to swallow, but my throat and lungs burned.
“I’m... fine,” I said managing the words out since my throat is on fire.
“I heard you screaming, I was afraid...,” she started.
“I’m fine, just a bad dream,” I answered trying to comfort her. I knew that I have given her a lot of trouble ever since I moved in.
She pleaded with her eyes. “Please, Mallory, it was not your fault... for... what happen, just don’t... blame yourself.”
I looked out the window as the moonlight shine through my window. “You should go back to sleep, you have work tomorrow.”
She smiled. “Yeah, I do, good night.”
She tucked me under the covers. “Good night,” I whispered and I watched as she took one last peek at me before closing the door.
I slept on my side and continue to look out the window. I shut my eyes as I listened as the wind blew against my window.

Stories: Excerpt 1
Sorry the pages are not working so I decided to post it as a new post...
Excerpt:
We’re chatting as we enter the dark tunnel. I laughed at her stupid jokes about immortals, how she did her research and what she found out. She turned out of the tunnel and that’s when she sees it. A dog popping out of nowhere. She spins the steering wheel and the whole car is whirling. I screamed grabbing onto the handle at the top of the car, but it didn’t seem to hold me up thought. I slammed my head against the window as the balloon pops in front of my face; my face dripping from blood where I hit my head.
I moaned.
“Lyn,” I called, but she didn’t answer. The car moved again and I hit my head again on the window, but only this time darkness caught me.
The next thing I know is that I’m outside of the car and my head is bleeding like hell. I moaned and groaned, until I realized that Lyn was still in the car. She was patting against the window slowly and blood dripping from her arm to her hand. My eyes widen remembering what happened. She was still tapping on the window of the car hoping that I could save her since I’m outside, but the only problem was that I don’t recall climbing out of the car. I tried to stand, but my legs were like jello. Instead, I motioned toward Lyn, then someone from behind yanked me back and I saw Lyn screaming, hitting the window harder. I struggled to break free, but whoever it was, was too strong beside that I had a concussion on my head.
