I am hoping it is about 80,000, but the least is 70,000. Wish me luck!!!!

Forever Gone: Chapter 3
Chapter Four:
Faye
2010
I sensed someone looking at me. I turned around and found a boy with light brown hair staring at me. It seemed like he knew, but I had no idea who it was. One thing that was strange about him was that he had light violet eyes; he must be wearing contacts unless he was born with those eyes, which would be very unusual.
“Faye,” someone called my name.
It was Skye.
“Hey,” I said turning away from the boy.
“Are you excited,” she asked walking with a book bag hanging over one shoulder.
“Am I supposed to be?”
“NO, because school here is like death,” she said fiddling with her heart shaped necklace.
I smiled. “Well, if we don’t’ go now we’re going to go to hell for sure.”
She looked at her watch. “Oh crap.” She dragged me into the building with her.
My first period class was history. I took a seat at the back of the room, since everyone had already taken their seat. The tardy bell rang and the door flew opened like it was planned. The boy that looked at me at the parking lot came in.
“Mr...,” Mrs. Herman asked looking at her attendance sheet like it was going to give her the answer.
“Greene,” he answered.
“Mr. Greene I hope you are aware that you are late for history,” she told him putting her glasses on.
“I am aware of that Mrs. Herman,” he answered.
She nodded. “Take a seat then.”
He looked around for a seat, but the only seat left was the one right next to me. He walked over and sat next to me.
“Alright open your textbooks to page 24 and start answering the questions,” Mrs. Herman said taking a seat at her desk.
“Can I borrow a pen,” someone asked. I turned and looked at me.
“You’re talking to me,” I asked.
He smiled. “Yes, I believe it’s only you here.”
“Sure,” I said and I dug out a pen from my messenger bag. “Here.”
I handed him my pen.
“Thank you,” he said and started working on his questions. The rest of the period was basically pure boring. I did my classwork and tried to answer every question I know. My next class was art and I was in the same class as Skye.
I took a seat next to Skye and her other friends.
“Okay we are going to sketch something that means a lot to you during your childhood,” Mr. Jeffrey announced. “I want this to be one of your best sketches that you have ever drawn.”
Skye sighed. “God, I suck in art, why did I bother to take this class in my last year at WGR.”
“Ha me neither,” a girl called Mandy said. “I wasn’t going to take this class, but this one of the easiest class I could take.”
Mr. Jeffrey interrupted hearing the conversation. “Please do not think this class as easy, because if your drawings are not good I would fail you and it won’t be a good mark for you colleges.”
We nodded. I took out my sketch pad.
“Hey did you guys see the new hot guys in school today,” Dawn asked. Skye looked up.
“Oh my god, I totally saw them, I think it was something like Ashton, Basil, and what?”
“Evan, I think Evan is the hottest,” Mandy said drawing a line on her paper.
“Yeah me too, you should have seen those light violet eyes, those. are. totally. hot,” Dawn said pronouncing the words carefully.
“Hey doesn’t he sit next to you in history class,” Skye asked looking at me. I looked up from my sketch.
I nodded. “Yeah.”
“OMG, you are so lucky,” Mandy said with her eyes glowing.
“Girls no more talking and more working,” Mr. Jeffrey told us. They all shut up.
“What are you going to draw,” Skye asked looking at my sketch pad.
I shrugged. “A necklace.”
“A necklace,” she repeated.
“Yeah, this is one,” I showed her the one that Greg send me ten years ago, but I just received it last week.
“That looks very unique,” she said looking at my emerald necklace.
“Thank you,” I said and I started to sketch the necklace without looking at it.

I put down my book as I sense Basil coming toward my room. I got up and opened the door for him.
“God, I hate when you do this,” Basil said rolling his eyes. “Well, are you ready for school yet?”
I winced when he said the word school. “I have no idea why agreed on going to school with you guys.”
He smiled. “You own me, dude.”
I nodded. “Well, I’m ready. Seriously I hope I won’t go crazy when I’m around those humans.”
“Yeah whatever, we’re leaving,” he said already half way out the door. “Ana is so enthusiastic.”
I smiled when he emphasize the word so.
I got in the car and took a seat at the front of the car with Basil. Ana was sitting at the back with Rena and Ashton.
“I hope I’ll survive,” Rena said tying her shoelace.
“Yep, but my tummy is full so I’ll survive, at least today,” Ashton said rubbing his tummy.
I smiled. “We’re going to do fine. Hey by the way, can anyone tell me why I agreed on going to school with you guys?”
Ana laughed along with Rena and Ashton, like it was supposed to be a joke.
“Maybe you were on drugs,” Basil laughed turning into the parking lot of West Greenwich Regional High. “God what is with these people there everywhere.”
I looked out the window and agreed with him. There were many humans, I mean not even many; it was outnumbered. It was really noisy in the parking lot.
“That’s the first day of high school for human: loud and stupid,” Ashton joked.
“Stupid, their retarded, their basically holding up a sign that say kill me,” Ana said getting out the car. I grabbed hold of her hand before she got up. She looked at me.
“I won’t start sucking people blood,” she said and she got out.
I got out when something caught my attention.
It was her.
Faye McCarthy.
Basil saw me stuttered and came over. “What happen man?”
He must have saw it too because he was starting to look at her. She turned around from her friends and caught me looking. She almost looked like her mother reddish-brownish hair, tall, and slim, but she had those emerald color eyes that were very attractive, probably go it from her father.
She was wearing all black: black skinny jeans, black t-shirt, but then she wore neon green converse.
“Faye,” someone called. She finally looked away from me and started to talk to a dirty blonde hair girl.
“Who’s that,” I thought I heard Ashton whispered to Ana. She didn’t answer him, but her face was red now.
Oh god, Ana is jealous that you’re starring at the girl and not at her, Basil thought.
I elbowed him on the ribs. He flinched almost knocking over Rena.
“Dude, seriously watch it,” Rena cried.
“Blame him,” Basil said pointing at me.
I wasn’t paying attention now; I was looking at Faye McCarthy. I remembered her as an innocent girl, whose mother and brother died when she was only seven.

Last Summer Excerpt
I waked past her. "Wait," she called after me.
What now, I'm going to get my schedule what's your problem...
"What is your name," she asked cautiously like she was sfriad to ask for my name.
"Lee Young," I answered with confidence.
"Lee, I thought it was a guy's name, I knew a guy name Lee."
I tried to return a smile , but I can't instead I just stared at her. What she said was pretty offending.
"Anyway, I'll love to have you in my English class," she said and went out the office. I turned away from her and head to the front desk.
"Good Morning, I'm Miss. Jones, how can I help you," the front lady asked. She sounded like a message recorder. I'm glad the school hired her as the reception.
I grinned. "I'm new in Midwood and I'm here to get my schedule."

Last Summer
So today is my first day at Midwood High School and I already have an bad impression on the school. It smelled like rotten wood and apple cider mix together. I remember clearly that St. Harrison High never smelled like this; it smelled like sweet cotton candy that gives you a warm welcoming. I wished I was back in Wisconsin and that I didn't have to move to New York City and live with my cranky old hag Aunt Lilie.
She said that if I don't behave and get good grades, she'll kick me out the house. I wish she could that, but I knew that she was only threatening me so I'll act good. Sorry, but that's not going to happen. Once I'm eighteen I'm so gonna move out of this freaking shitty house.
I continue down to the main office that is in the little tiny corner of the first floor. I mean like seriously if the office is going to be so small, why bother to even make one. I walked in and a blond hair woman stopped me.
"What are you here for," she asked.
I looked up at her trying to make her invisible, but I knew that couldn't happen, so instead I answer her.
"I new here and I'm here to get my schedule sheet so I will be able to get to my first period class and not be late."
She tapped her brown high shoes against the tile floor like she was impatient. "Alright hurry up."

Forever Gone: Excerpt
I put the volume louder as I waited for my dad to pick it up from the Richmond Airport in Rhode Island. I haven’t been here for ten years, not since my mom died in a car accident with my brother, Greg.
I set my bags on the chair next to me and pulled my sweater back on. It was like a refrigerator here in the airport. The government just announced that they didn’t have enough money and this stupid airport is now blasting the air conditioner up. Seriously, people don’t have a mind here.
I looked at my watch again: 2:34. My dad was late for more than half an hour.
“Faye,” I heard someone shouted. I turned around and saw my dad wearing jeans and a t-shirt, next to him was a woman. I took off my earphones.
“Sorry, sweetie, kinda lost track in time,” he said picking my luggage up. I nodded.
“This is Julia, my girlfriend,” dad introduced. “Julia, Faye; Faye, Julia.”
The way he said girlfriend made me uncomfortable; I didn’t want to have a new mother, all I wanted was my biological one, but I know that I won’t get that. But I know that dad still has to move on without mom here.
I smiled. “Hi Julia.”
“Hello Faye,” she said. She had a heavy southern accent.
“Well, why don’t we get Faye settle in the house,” dad offered and carried my things to the car. I walked with Julia.
Dad moved here a week ago because he had to register for his new job in South County Hospital as headmaster of the ER department. I stayed at California with grandma as dad got his things done in Rhode Island. We thought that moving back here to Rhode Island would be a better start for him, since he just lost his job in California.
“So how did you meet dad,” I asked Julia.
She looked at me surprised. “Oh, we were in the same college a few years ago, I mean many years ago.” She was nervous and I could tell. “Really, ha that’s kind of funny.”
Julia’s eyes widen. “I mean like classmate to boyfriend and girlfriend.”
She relaxed. “You’re nervous aren’t you,” I asked.
She looked right into my eyes and nodded. Her eyes were blue and they were very attracting.
I gave her a nervous laugh. “Actually, I am too, but you seem nice and I like you.”
She smiled. “I like you too.”
Dad came walking toward us. “So what were you ladies talking about?”
I smiled. “About you and they aren’t good.”
Julia and I laughed and we went in the car. I could see the relieve face on dad’s face.
I went in my room. It was blue and green, just like it was ten years ago. My hand brushed against my new desk and remembered that it use to be a small, tiny drawing table that mom brought for me.
“Faye,” dad said standing at the door.
“Hey,” I said and he came in.
“Feels weird doesn’t it,” he asked sitting next to me on the bed. I nodded.
“I never thought that we would be back and that I would still be in this house either,” I said.
Dad nodded. “I mean we bought the house, so why buy another one.”
I nodded. “I like it here, it’s warm.”
Dad smiled. “Oh yeah I found letters on the table and some were yours and some were you mother, you know.”
I nodded. “I’ll take it all, it’s better to be hard than to be hard for both.”
I grabbed the letters out of his hand.
“Where’s Julia,” I asked trying to change the subject.
“Oh, I told her to go home and have a rest since we’re going to work tonight.”
“You’re going to work tonight,” I asked.
“Yeah and I actually have to leave now,” he said checking his watch.
I smiled. “It’s alright; I’m big enough to take care of myself. I’m no longer the little Faye that lived here ten years ago.”
He nodded his head and got up. “Good night, sleep well.”
I smiled and nodded. I know that I won’t sleep well tonight and we both knew that. I closed the door as I heard the front door shut. The bed seemed to be welcoming me and I plopped myself onto the bed. I reached for the letters as I scanned through them looking for letters that belong to me.

Crescendo

The published date for Crscendo by Becca Fitzpatrick is moved to October 19. That means it coming out a month early. Yay. Now they even have the prologue and first chapter online. And as usual it's best as ever.
Blurb:
Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

Forever Gone
The first story I finished and is about 130 pages.
The first chapter
March 23, 2000
“George,” my mom called. My dad came rushing in the living room.
“Yes,” he said. He was wearing his new jeans that mom and I had picked out for him. I giggled. He saw me giggling and came over.
“What is so funny, huh,” he asked. I giggled again. Mom smiled.
“What is so funny,” dad asked again.
I smiled. “You’re wearing new jeans. Me and mommy picked them.”
Mom’s smile was brighter now. “Oh yeah I totally forgot about them.”
Dad rolled his eyes. “Tell me one thing you remember besides on your vampire novels.”
“Vampire, I love them,” I said.
“God, Faye, once you meet one you won’t like it,” mom said popping into one of the seat. “You could love them now when you’re seven, but you won’t love them once you grow older.”
“Seriously Lorraine, ‘You won’t love them once you grow older’,” dad said taking his seat. I took a seat next to mom.
“It’s true,” mom said putting a bagel in the microwave.
“There aren’t any vampires in this world,” dad said taking a sip of his coffee.
Mom shrugged.
“Stay away from me,” Greg shouted from the living room. He came in the kitchen with Spike, our dog. “Mom can’t you make Spike stay away from me. He was in my room when I was changing.”
Mom laughed. “What did you think the dog wanted to see you naked?”
Dad and I laughed. I guess that’s the humor of an author.
“Dad,” Greg complained.
“Alright, alright you put some food in his tray, he’ll stay away from you,” dad answered setting his newspaper down. Greg moaned.
Mom got up and poured food into Spike’s tray. Spike immediately ran away from Greg and went to gobble his food down.
“Thank god,” he said and started to eat his bagel.
Dad looked at the time. “Gotta go.”
He got up and gave mom a kiss on the cheek. “Ew,” Greg complained again.
I frowned. “Greg you complain a lot.”
“Yeah I do. Mom I’m going to Martin’s house today,” my brother said. “We have to this Social Studies project together.”
“Okay, when?”
“At ten, which is like less than twenty minutes,” Greg answered. “Martin’s dad is going to drive me to the library.”
“God, like you couldn’t tell me earlier than this,” mom said.
He shrugged.
“Bye honeys,” dad said and went out the door. Like usual, I look out the kitchen window and saw daddy went in the car and drove away. I went back to my seat. The doorbell rang. Mom went to get it.
“Mr. Nigh, good morning, yes he’s ready,” mom said. Greg drank his glass of milk and jumped out of the seat. He is only eleven, but he was already 5’5. The doctor said that he was tall for his age and if he keeps growing like this he’ll probably end up like six foot something. I, on the other hand, am short for a second grader. I’m not going to admit this to Greg, but I’m jealous of him. Mom and dad are both tall and I want to fit in the family too.
Greg left the house too; leaving only mom and I.
“Alright Faye, I’m going to my study room and you’re going to your room finishing up your little story,” she said cleaning the last dish.
I started to write my first story last week. I am already on page ten and I am proud of that. Mom promised me that she would edit my story and then publish it. I got excited about publishing my own books just like mom. I nodded and went upstairs to my room.
I took out my little notebook and started to write. My story was about how the small little rat saved the big lion. Mom read one to me about the turtle and the rabbit; how the turtle and the rabbit were racing, but the rabbit thought that he would definitely win so he decide to take a nap. At the end, the turtle won because he kept running without stopping. Mom said that this was a lesson, not that I know what lesson meant. But I knew that everything mom says is right because I just know. I got bored at the end and decided to go to mom’s study room downstairs. I took the stairs one by one until I reached to the bottom of the staircase. I knocked on mom’s door.
“Come in,” she said. I opened the door and saw her sitting at her desk. She was wearing one of her big, black framed glasses.
“Mommy,” I called. She looked up. She seemed surprised that it was me.
“Yes sweetie,” mommy said picking me up to her lap. I looked at her computers; she was writing her stories.
“You’re writing your story,” I said. She smiled.
“Yes I am, sweetie,” she said and she kissed my cheeks. I don’t know why she calls me sweetie, but I like it.
“What are you writing about,” I asked.
She looked at me puzzled. “About vampires of course.”
“I know, but why are you writing about vampires,” I asked. I didn’t know what vampires are, but I know they aren’t good because mom always say that you should be afraid once you see one.
She frowned like it was very, very hard to answer. Her wrinkles showed up on her forehead.
“Because I believed there are,” she finally answered.
“You believe in them,” I asked.
“Yes and one day I’m sure I’m going to meet one.”
“You’re going to meet one,” I repeated and my eyes widen. “You said you should be afraid of them.”
“Yes, yes, and yes I did, but I am very interested in it,” mommy answered.
“If they are so dangerous then why are you interested in it,” I asked.
“Like I said, I’m just interested and I don’t know why,” she answered. “Do you know why I named you Faye?”
I shook my head.
“Because your name means fairy and magical creatures and I believed in them all,” she answered.
“So my name has a meaning,” I asked.
She nodded. “Greg doesn’t have one does he?”
“He does have a meaning, but it isn’t as special as yours,” mommy answered.
I smiled. “I’m special.”
She smiled too and gave me a peck on my cheek. Suddenly, my eyes were very tired.
“Mommy, I’m very tired,” I whispered.
She nuzzled in my hair. “Then go to sleep.”
She started humming my favorite song, a song that I don’t know the name of and I fell asleep.

New Story
Chapter One: Evan
I hear noises.
I hear everything.
But none of these are important.
None of these bother me.
Because only she does.
I’m crazy now...
God, I hate the first day of school in Beacon. Everybody screaming at the top of their lungs. I raised the volume up of my ipod.
“Evan,” I heard someone screamed. I ignored him.
“Dude,” he said and he caught me.
I spun around. It was Tyler.
“Seriously,” he said. I couldn’t exactly hear what he was hearing from either my ipod or the screaming. All I hear was this “...erio...ly.”
He pointed at my earphones. I pulled it out.
“Hey, Ty,” I said trying to sound enthusiastic.
“Seriously, dude, don’t try to cheer yourself up because I know you’re not,” he said rolling his eyes. I had known Tyler for two years, but he seemed to have a lot in common with me. He just knows what I’m thinking about and what I like.
“Alright, I’m trying to be cool,” I said fumbling with my earphone.
“Hey guess what, I heard there’s this new hot girl that just transfer to Beacon,” he whispered in my ear like it was some kind of secret.
I raised my eyebrow. “So, it’s not like no new girl comes to Beacon every year.”
He nodded. “True.” And he walked away.
I got into first period class which is history right on time. Everybody around me was talking about the school dance and some were talking about who they were going to date this semester, it’s like they didn’t have anything better to say than this crap. The door swung opened and a girl with reddish brown hair came in. She glanced at my direction and her eyes were light violet, my eyes were unable to break away from it.
“Miss. St. Claire, you may sit in the back of the classroom,” Ms. Tate said without lifting up her head.
“Thank you,” she said and glided down the classroom. I mean she did glide down the classroom; one minute she was at the front of the classroom and then the next minute she was already at her seat and she had taken everything out of her book bag.
“As you know we started school late due to the flooding,” she said. “As you know Halloween in coming up soon in less than two weeks and as usually we talk about the vampire stories.”
The bell rang. I smiled relieved to get out of class, so I don’t have to hear about the stupid stories of vampires where they tell us every year when it comes to Halloween. Tyler caught up with me.
“Jesus, she was going to tell us about those vampire stories again, I mean don’t she get sick of saying it over and over all these years,” he said.
I smiled. “After all Rhode Island is Vampire Capital of America.”
He laughed. “Yep, I’m going to suck your blood.”
Just then someone’s book fell right on Tyler’s foot.
“Dang, watch wh...,” he started but he didn’t finished because right in front of him was the new girl. She was about six foot because she was like the same height as Tyler.
“I’m sorry,” she said. He bended down and picked it up for her.
“It’s alright.”
“Can I please have my book back,” she asked sticking her hand out.
“Yeah, sorry,” he said and he handed back her book. She walked out of the class room.
“What’s with you,” I asked.
“She is so hot, man,” Ty said ignoring my question. “She is so going to be going to the dance with me.”
I shook my head and headed off to art class.
Chapter Two: Evan
I went to art and handed Mr. Kingston my late pass, since I had to help Ms. Santiago move the boxes out of the hallway. I took a seat at the end of the room. In art we could sit anywhere we want and I usually like to sit in back where there is a window right next to me. Nobody ever like it in the back, which I don’t why; I love seeing the landscape of Rhode Island in art class, it gives me a feeling that can’t even be explained. The chair next to be rattled and I turned. It was the new girl. I noticed that she was wearing a black hoodie and black skinny jeans. On her left hand pointer finger she was wearing one of those senior rings in graduation from junior high school.
“You don’t mind of I sit here do you,” she asked.
“No,” I said and I moved my school bag so she could have more room.
“Thanks,” she said. “I’m Fallyn.”
Fallyn, what an unusual name; it sounds like an awkward version of fallen.
“Where are the paints,” she asked getting up.
“Oh there over there in the cabinets,” I answered. “Let me show you.”
I got up and she followed me to the cabinets. Stacey, the most popular girl in this school, got up and started to move toward us. Everybody knows that we should stay away from her because nothing good happens when she’s around. Fallyn took a bottle of blue, red, and white paint and started to mix the colors together. Stacey came over and looked at Fallyn’s shade of light lavender color paint, just like her eyes. I knew what was going to happen next.
“Stacey,” I said, but I was too late. The paint splashed all over Fallyn’s black hoodie. Stacey and Ashleh started cracking up.
“Well, look at that I added a sense of... paint into it,” Stacey said.
Fallyn looked up. “Would you like to apologize?”
Her voice was so calm, it was like nothing happened. Stacey never apologized to anyone.
“Do you know what you just said,” she said smiling.
“She told you to apologized,” Ashleh said. “Who do you think you are, the queen?”
They started to crack up. Fallyn smiled and she looked right into Stacey’s eyes.
“Would you like to apologize,” she repeated again. Stacey stopped laughing and was starring right into her eyes.
She swallowed loud. “I’m... sorry.”
Ashleh’s mouth dropped open.
“We should help her clean up,” Stacey suggested and she took a roll of paper towel out of the drawer.
“Are you girls alright,” Mr. Kingston asked, but then he saw me. “And guys.”
I mean he didn’t come a minute ago, why come now.
“Yep, I accidentally spilled Fallyn’s paint,” Stacey explained.
“Okay,” he said and he went back to his desk.
“I think I’ll go and change,” Fallyn said.
“I’ll help you,” Stacey offered.
“I’m fine going by myself,” she said.
“Oh,” Stacey looked disappointed.
Fallyn went out the classroom. I was starting to think that this was a dream because no way I just heard Stacey said sorry. I got back to work on my screwed up tree. The tree itself didn’t look right and the branches looked awkward. I ripped the paper out and trashed it.
I hear noises.
I hear everything.
But none of these are important.
None of these bother me.

Too Late: Present III
“Sure, I could do some research tonight,” I offered. I mean like really I didn’t have to do research since like I’m a real demo of a wizard and an immortal.
“That would be great, thanks,” he said.
“You really didn’t have to say thanks because I’m doing the project too.”
Another silence.
“Is there something else you want to tell me about,” I asked.
“No, no, have a good night sleep,” he said and he hung up.
The door slammed opened. “Seems like someone is in love,” Sally said popping her face into my room.
“Not me,” I said backing away from the conversation.
“Not you, but him, totally read his mind,” she answered. I thought, I really don’t care and if you don’t leave this room in an instinct I would definitely slam your head against the door, however I believe that you would probably break the door.
“Fine,” she said and she left, leaving the door wide open, like she was daring me to slam the door shut. So I did, the shutting of the door caused the whole house to shake.
Thanks for making this house collapse soon, Sally thought. I ignored and started to type the information about immortals, witches, and wizards.
“Wow, how did you get these information,” Carson exclaimed after reading my essay that I wrote last night. “It’s so thorough.”
“So it’s good,” I said leaning closer. I could smell the mint from his mouth, but as I lean closer I smelled it. Rose tips. I pulled back nearly falling off the chair.
“Are you alright,” he asked reaching for me. I pulled my arm away as reached for me. He looked confused.
“I’m fine,” I said and flew out the door. I could hear him calling after me, but I ignored him.
“Alex,” someone said. I ignored whoever it was just in case if it was Carson. “Hey.”
I could sense it was Leeann, now that she was closer. I spun around. I must have frightened her because she flinched back like I was going to punch her in the face.
“Sorry,” I whispered after seeing her expression. She looked at me blankly.
“Oh, it’s fine,” she said blinking a few times like she was just lost. “I, um, that was a fast move... kind... of cool.”
“Oh,” was all I said. “Is there something I could help you?”
“Oh, nothing, I just saw you storming out of that classroom, thought maybe like... you saw a ghost,” she joked laughing at her own joke that was retarded. I smiled, trying to be polite.
“I felt sick, thought maybe the little girl’s room would help me,” I whispered.
She giggled. “Alright, I have to head back to class, see you after school.”
Leeann headed down the dark corridor and disappeared. I stood there covering my face with my hands: thinking about Monique, then at Shane, and how upset Alana became after what happen to Monique. We had to move from place to place because we were guilty of what happen to Monique and then every time Jeff looked at us it was full of hatred, for putting his sister in this kind of situation.
“Are you alright,” he asked. I looked up and saw Carson. I felt myself straighten up, afraid that he was one of those demon hunters.
“Can’t you say something else then are you alright,” I said turning away from him.
“Sorry, uh, I really don’t know what to say rather than are you alright,” he said shrugging his shoulders.
I gave off a laugh. “So you smell kind of good, what is it?”
He lifted his lip up and motions his finger for me to come closer like it was secret. I played along.
“It’s use to keep witches and wizards away,” he whispered into my ear. His breathe was smoothing and hot on my ear. My eyes widen hoping that he didn’t sense it or saw it. I snapped out of my thoughts of horror.
I laughed again. “What the hell are you talking about; I thought you were only kidding about them.”
He shrugged. “I don’t know, but I think that they might exist.”
“Okay, another question, why would that smell keeps the witches and others away from you,” I asked narrowing my eyes like I didn’t believe him.
“You don’t believe me, do you,” he asked me. “Well, anyway it was just a myth that my father used to tell me when I was a little kid.”
His father, I thought.
“Your father, he seems... creative,” I said. “He even gave you that little cologne smell to make these things back off, nice.” I gave my biggest smile to him.
“Yeah, he gave it to me and that he insist that I should wear it,” he said.
I shrugged. “Wanna leave?”
“Sure.”
As he turned around to head back to the classroom, I gave him my smirk because I was going to his house tonight whether he likes it or not.
I followed after school. He worked in Big Bailey’s Ice Cream Shop and he worked until like five. After his work shift, he started to walk around the neighborhood like he didn’t want to go home too early. First, Carson stopped by Dilson’s house and stayed there for almost an hour. When he came out it was already six thirty. Next, he went to the laundry mat and picked up a suit, which I guess is for his father since the suit looked huge on him.
He finally went home at eight. I could see him walking down the street and stopped in front of a condo. Carson rang the doorbell. Uh, I forgot my keys on the counter, dad is going to kill me, he thought.
I watched him from across the street and the door finally opened. A man in his forties came out. He was wearing a t-shirt and a short. At first, I didn’t recognize him, but then I did.
It was Shane.
“Whoa,” Sally said when she saw me just appearing right there next to her. “What you were that lazy and you couldn’t even open the door.”
I didn’t answer her.
“What’s wrong,” she asked turning to face me.
Her mouth dropped open after reading my mind. “What the heck, how did... what?”
“I saw him, he’s in his forties now and Carson is his son,” I explained. “No wonder he smells like rose tips, their demon hunters.”
A tear escaped through my eye; Sally wiped it away. She put her arms around me and holds me tight.
“It’s alright, maybe their just here for some normal life,” she whispered. I shook my head. “What if they are here to catch us and then you’re a witch, oh god.”
“I won’t get caught.”
“Who knows, Monique told me that she wouldn’t get caught and she did at the end.”
“I’m more experience than she is, I’m 156 years old, no worries,” she whispered.
I shrugged.
Leeann happened to be right in front of my house the next morning. She told me that she just passed by and she remembered that I lived here, so she thought she should pick me up.
“Tell me the real reason here,” I asked her once we’re in the car. Oh my god, I can’t believe I’m going to have to say this, this is all so screw up. Why would did I even plan on asking her this question, it’s stupid. Fudge... Uh why am I cursing, disgusting. How am I supposed to start this?
“Oh, I,” she stuttered. I stared at her giving her a chance to tell me what she wants from me.
“See, the spring dance is coming up and if you were me would you like say yes, to a boy... like... Dilson,” she asked wincing on the name.
“Maybe,” I said calmly. “I’ll probably say yes, but I’m not going to have a chance.”
She took a quick glance. Oh my god, don’t tell me she knows this already.
“Why,” she asked.
“Because he’s asking you to the dance,” I answered ignoring her thoughts cursing at me.
She stared at me with horror. “How did you know?”
Leeann almost hit the car in front of us. “Dude, watch it, I don’t want to die yet,” I shouted as she step on the break. It’s not like I was going to die anyway.
“Sorry, but how did you know,” she asked again. I smiled.
“Because your face is telling me everything,” I lied, actually it was a half lie, and because usually when people ask that question that means that it’s happening on them.
She gave me a grin. I laughed at it because she looked like she was in pain with her grin on her face.
“Okay, since you knew already, so do you think I should say yes,” Leeann asked making a turn to the school parking lot.
“Yes, he seems like a great guy,” I answered and I collected by belongings. I stepped out of the car when she finally found an available parking spot.
“I’ll listen to you,” she said and she locked the car.
“You already made up your mind,” I said smiling at her. I was still reading her mind. She looked at me with horror.
I look past her shoulder and spot Dilson in front of a Nissan. “Your love,” I whispered showing her that Dilson was over there.
She slapped my hand. “Shut up.”
I laughed and swing my messenger bag over my shoulder.
“Bye, good luck.”

Too Late: Present II
“Are you alright,” he asked still holding my arm.
“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s probably because I didn’t eat breakfast this morning,” I whispered. I looked away so he didn’t have to see my horrified expression. I doubt he knew what I was and this whole brainstorming topic thing began way before I even came to this school.
“Oh okay, but don’t you think that this is going to be a good topic,” Carson asked. I nodded.
I waited on line to get my lunch. Everybody around me was thinking and talking about the new teacher in school. I ignored them as I got my lunch. Just then a interesting thought came from the lunch lady. It’s my birthday and nobody even said Happy Birthday to me yet. I’m going to kick their ass if they don’t say it by the end of the day.
I smiled, it seemed like everybody forgot about her birthday. After she gave a slice of pizza, I leaned in and whispered, “Happy Birthday.” She looked at me, like I was getting something wrong. Then she softens and smiled back at me. “Thank you.” I smiled and headed toward the cafeteria.
“Alex,” someone called from behind. I turned around and saw Leeann standing up and waving at me to get my attention. I walked slowly up to her table.
“Hey,” I greeted as I walked up against the table. I took a seat across from her. Next to Leeann was September, an orange hair girl that somewhat looked like Victoria Beckham.
“This September, and September this is Alex,” Leeann introduced us.
“Hi September, I love your name,” I said trying to act dumb since I already knew why she was call September.
“Oh thanks, I, uh, really don’t like it,” September whispered back. She stoke her fork into her salad.
“Why,” I asked her, biting the tip of the pizza.
“Her mom named her September because she was born in the month of September,” Leeann whispered in my ear. I smiled.
“You shouldn’t dislike your name, I think at least it has a meaning to it,” I informed and I saw September’s face brighten up.
She smiled. “Call me Sept, you know for short.”
“Hi, Sept,” I said and I chewed on my pizza.
“Hey,” someone said and came toward our table. He took a seat right next to September. “I see we’ve met a sexy new girl.” He gave me a wink.
I smiled and behind him was Carson. He took a seat right next to me.
“I’m Dilson,” he said smiling and dazzling me. I bet I could make this girl go crazy over me. My smile works on every girl. Bet she’s dazzle already.
“I’m Alex,” I said. “By the way, you’re not dazzling me.” I could see the disappointment on his face. Carson smiled at me.
“Man, you got rejected,” Leeann shouted and people that were sitting on the tables behind us were looking at us.
“Stop drawing attention to yourself,” Dilson shouted. September and Carson rolled their eyes.
“Are they like this all the time,” I whispered into Carson’s ear.
He smiled. “Yes.”
“I’m getting out of here before they start a food fight,” Sept said and she got up moving toward the staircase.
“How about you,” I asked Carson.
“Come on let’s ditch them,” he said and we grabbed our things while they were still arguing with each other.
“So why did you move here,” Carson asked as we were walking up the stairs.
“Maybe because I wanted a normal life,” I answered watching my legs moving up the stairs swiftly. “I guess I didn’t like my old life.”
“Oh, seems like a sad story,” he whispered. I shrugged.
“Okay, my turn to ask questions,” I said. “Do you live with your parents?”
He smiled at me. “Yeah, how about you?”
“No, I don’t, live with my maid, Sally,” I answered. I could feel him staring at me confused. For some reason when I’m around him I don’t feel like using magic or the mind reading him. It makes me feel accomplish about things.
“What happen to your parents,” he asked.
“Oh they travel around the world most of the time,” I said. “I mean like all the time, I hardly see them once a year.”
“Okay, do you have any sibling,” he asked. I could feel that the spotlight light was once again on me, but I didn’t really care.
“Yeah, I do, I have a sister. She lives with my aunt in Wyoming,” I whispered and hold tight to the strap around my messenger bag.
“Seems like I make you nervous,” he said pointing at the way how I was clutching my strap. I let it go.
“No, it’s just that I don’t really like the past,” I whispered and picked my head up and saw that we were only on the third floor. “Uh, I think we’re late, so why not hurry up, I’m not willing to get detention for being late twice in a row.”
“Sure,” he said and we shut-up while we ran upstairs.
“I thought you wanted to be normal,” Sally said putting the watermelon into the fruit salad.
“I am,” I answered and took a bite on the apple.
“But, apparently, you’re still using your mind reading thing,” she said and she stuck her tongue out to show me that her tongue was burning from the coldness of the watermelon. I laughed.
“What did you do, put the watermelon at the degree of 6 Fahrenheit,” I joked.
She frowned, “I was trying to see if it was right if you stick your tongue out on a frozen watermelon, your tongue would get stuck. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.”
I laughed. “Who told you this stupid stuff and made out smart, witch Sally fall for it?”
“I didn’t fall for it, I was just trying to see...,” she said, but she faded in her words. She put vinegar into the bowl.
“Ew, you put vinegar in it,” I screeched squeezing my nose so I wouldn’t inhale the smell of vinegar.
“What you like it before,” she started, but I interrupted her.
“Yeah, before I knew you actually put vinegar in that shit,” I said pointing at the fruit salad that was all smelly from vinegar. “I’m starting to think my smelling and tasting sense has some problems.”
“Seriously, you’re weird,” she said and shook her head. “So your birthday is coming up, whatcha planning to do?”
“Nothing.”
“What did I just hear nothing,” she bellowed. “I mean seriously hardly anyone gets a chance to celebrate their 421st birthday and trust me on that one.”
“Yeah, not like you have a chance of that,” I pointed out.
“You’re making me jealous,” she said narrowing her eyes. “I wish I was an immortal.”
I glared at her. “No, no, I don’t mean like I want to be one, but I’m just saying what it would be like if you could love forever and then you get all bore and stuff, then you get to celebrate you 500th birthday, that would’ve been cool.”
“No, it won’t and by the way you have run on sentence, so that makes it worse,” I said and picked up my bottle of water.
“Thank god, you’re not an English teacher or the students you have are gonna to commit suicide.”
“Right, that sounds more like you.”
“You make me sound old.”
“You are old, you’re twenty one, while I’m only eighteen, but technically on the high school application I said I was seventeen.”
“You’re making me more jealous.”
“Am I, I’m sorry, perhaps you could get away with seventeen too, it’s not like you’re that old.”
“Aww, you’re so sweet,” she said and she glided right next to me; putting her hand on my face.
“That’s so gay,” I whispered and I grabbed my things and headed to my bedroom at the end of the hall. I’m kind of scare of those two floors house, even though I’m the scariest thing you could find, but I’m just so use to mom’s scary stories that she use to tell me when I was a little kid. I dropped my things to a nearby closet, since I have like a ton of them in here. My phone rungs and I realized that I didn’t recognize the phone number neither did my phone.
“Hello,” I greeted to whoever it was on the other end of the phone.
“Hey Alex,” he said. Uh I should have said who I was first. I’m retarded.
I recognize who it was after hearing the thoughts.
“Carson?”
“Hey you’re awesome, how did you know who I was?”
“Recognize your voice.”
“Never lie to you about anything.”
There was silence.
“So what are you calling for,” I asked breaking the silence.
“Oh, I was hoping you would agree on the idea of the topic that we are doing for the technology class,” he said.
I remembered what it was.
“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s probably because I didn’t eat breakfast this morning,” I whispered. I looked away so he didn’t have to see my horrified expression. I doubt he knew what I was and this whole brainstorming topic thing began way before I even came to this school.

I remembered what it was.
Too Late: Present
Present: Chapter 1
March 28, 2010
I walked into Memorial High with hundreds of eyes looking at me. That’s the new girl right, she looks fine at least. I smiled and kept going. What the hell, she’s looks screw up. I snickered and landed in front of the front office, at least that’s what they call it instead of main office.
“Excuse me,” I said standing in front of the desk where there was no one. Suddenly, a woman sat up from the floor.
“Are you alright,” I asked. She had blond short hair and she was wearing one of the sixties dress. I was starting to think that I made a wrong choice to enroll into this school.
She pushes the hair on her face away. “Yes,” she said and she straightens the papers on her desk up. “How can I help you?”
“I’m new here, and I’m here to get my schedule,” I answered. She looked at me. She seems fine maybe I shouldn’t give her a hard time, she thought. I smiled. Uh why is she giving me this smile it creeps me out, maybe I should give it to her and kick her out of here.
“Okay, sweetie, you have English first,” she said and she handed me a piece of paper. “If you have any problems please come here and I would love to help you.” Please don’t come back, you’re creeping me out.
I gave her my creepy smile to her again before leaving the office. Maybe I could haunt her as long as I am here. I climbed up the stairs and I have to say the stairs are pretty stressful, but it didn’t bother me a bit. I was at the fifth floor within a minute. There was nobody in the hallway, so I guess I was late, I hurried and rush to 508. I opened the door once I got there.
Mr. Kingston, the English teacher which I knew already before he even introduce himself, looked at me and then study me. “Yes,” he finally said after studying me. I heard few of the students laughing.
She’s hot, wonder what her name is?
“I’m Alexa Greene, the new student,” I introduced and answering the question for whoever asked that.
“Alexa Greene,” he repeated and looked in is his attendance sheet. He picked his head up. “Yes, I remember, please take a seat in the back of the classroom.”
“Thank you,” I whispered and walked to my seat at the back corner of the room. My favorite seat. As I walked down the aisle, a girl called Karri thought: A new girl alright, maybe I should make her embarrass or something like that on the first day. How about tripping her? She sticks out her leg in the aisle as I passed be. I was going to give her a surprise. I walked right into her leg like I didn’t notice and I dragged her with me as I passed by. She fell onto the ground with a thud.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t see your leg,” I apologized and I gave a smirk.
“Are you alright,” Mr. Kingston asked.
Karri’s face was red with embarrassment. “Yes.” She got up and slammed herself onto the chair. I continued down the aisle and sat down on my seat.
That Alexa is awesome. Totally love her for kicking that bitch Karri’s ass. I love her...
I smiled and copied the notes on the board.
After English, I got up from my seat and was about to head toward the door, but Karri stopped me.
“So freak face, I think you own me something,” she said. I studied her. She wanted me to say I’m a freak and I am so sorry for embarrassing her in front of everybody. There was no way she was going to make me say that.
“Stay away from her,” I heard shouted from behind. A girl came up and stand besides me. “Leave her alone,” she said.
“Shut up, Leeann,” Karri said laughing along with her group and they walked away.
“Thanks,” I whispered to her after Karri’s group left.
“You welcome,” she said. “I’m Leeann Carroll.”
“I’m Alexa, but I prefer you calling me Alex.”
“Hi, Alex, when do you have lunch,” she asked and she took out her schedule sheet to see when does she have hers.
“Fifth period,” I answered without looking at my paper.
She stared at me for a moment. “Wow, you memorized that already, I mean I have been in school for two weeks already and I still don’t remember what I have next period. By the way, I have lunch fifth too, so do you mind if we sit together?”
I nodded. “Sure, why not?”
She smiled. “Okay, I’ll see ya soon.” She headed down the hallway and walked the opposite direction from her.
I got into technology class just on time; I really don’t want to be late again. I went up to the back of the room, which is weird for where a teacher is sitting.
“Can I help you,” she asked looking away from her laptop.
“I’m the new student, Alexa Greene,” I introduced. She nodded.
I hate cute girls, they piss me off, she thought. “I’m Ms. Telic.”
“Take a seat in Pulley’s place, sitting next to Carson,” she said. “And Pulley since you talk a lot you may sit in the back of the room in front of me.”
Everybody started to crack up. I smiled along and went to my seat.
“Okay guys we’re going to start the midterm project starting from today. Your partners would be the one that are you are sitting right next to,” Ms. Telic announced.
I turned to my right. “Hey, I’m Alex.”
“Hi, I’m Carson,” he whispered back.
“Right you have no last name, don’t tell me it’s Carson Drew,” I joked.
He smiled. “No, Carson Penn. I’m not in the Nancy Drew series.”
I laughed. “So what do you do for the project?” I already knew what was it on by reading Ms. Talic’s mind, but I wanted some conversation on.
“Oh for that, I have to make a website and in it you have to pick a topic on what you want to do and then you start making the web for the topic you picked,” he explained. I stared at him confused; I caught his mistake when he said I.
“I,” I repeated again.
He smiled. “Sorry, I meant we.”
“So what do you want to do it on,” I asked. “Person, place or thing.”
“Nope, it’s people, a group of people,” he answered. I studied him, trying not to read his mind.
“We’re going to do it on witches, wizards, and immortals.”
I flinched a little. I guess I startled him too, because he held out his hand for me.

New Story: Too Late
Past: Prologue
January 15, 1990
“Alexa, wake up,” Alana screams. I open my eyes.
“What, it’s only midnight,” I mumble, rolling on my side.
“What part of midnight is 7 o’ clock in the morning,” Alana says. I look over at my clock: 7:00 am. My eyes widen.
“What,” I scream. “Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“Why didn’t I wake you up, hmm,” she says rubbing her chin. “I did, but you were like uh.”
I jumped out of bed. “Nice, I’m gonna be late for school.”
Alana shrugs.
“Girls breakfast,” Sabina screams.
“Coming,” Alana screams back. “Hurry up,” she adds and she threw me an outfit. I tried my best to hurry up, but it didn’t seem to work. The door pops open.
“Would you like to hurry,” Alana says popping her head through the door and scaring my ass off.
“You’re such an ass,” I say. Alana looks up like there is anything to see.
“Maybe I am, but at least I’m not a slow ass,” she says and she snaps the outfit onto me. I roll my eyes.
“Would you like to stop using magic,” I say and I grab my school bag. I head down to the breakfast, but it turned out that I was late, so Alana says that I shouldn’t eat; and she drags me off to her car. Like usual, I would pop into the passenger seat in the front, but this time I didn’t. I stare at it. It was a black Chevrolet .
“What the hell, you changed your car again,” I exclaim.
“Please Alex don’t spaz,” Alana says flipping her hair back.
“Stop flirting,” I whisper. She laughs and she hops in the car. I follow her in, so I don’t have to walk to school by myself since I was late already.
I walk into the school and found Monique standing there staring at the main office. I run up to her.
“What’s up,” I ask, patting her on the shoulder. Usually, when I pat on her shoulder, she’ll start spazing, but this time she didn’t. I look in the main office and I really didn’t see anything special.
“What are you looking at,” I ask her. She looks at me like I’m some idiot that’s talking to her.
“There’s this new kid in school and I heard he was hot,” she whispers. I rolled my eyes.
I grabbed her arm. “Can we head off to class, because if we don’t Miss. Nigh would be giving us detention and we would enter the dark zone,” I say and giving her a little picture of how Miss. Nigh would torture through a little squeeze. She shivers and heads down the hall. I take one last look at the main office, before heading to English class.
“Good morning class,” Miss Nigh says. She starts writing on the board, but someone barge into the classroom. Miss Nigh turns to face the new kid. She takes a look at the kid, who has blue eyes and golden yellow hair, and then looks back at the note that the kid handed over to her. I read her mind: He’s pretty good looking and we’re about the same age... I laugh at her thought; Monique looks and smiles at me, realizing that she also read Miss Nigh mind.
“Okay, Shane you may take a seat next to...” she starts picking her head up to look for an empty seat in the classroom. I focus on my notebook.
“Next to Heather,” she finally says. I heard someone saying yes in the back of the room. This made my grin deeper. Almost all the girl in my English is impress by the way how that Shane guy looks. Monique turns around again, Very impressive, right?
Yes it is, I thought sending the message to her. For the rest of the class, I didn’t try to read that new guy’s mind or the other girls and boys in my class. Girls are impress and boys are jealous.
“Dude, you should have seen what everybody thought about that new kid, Shane,” Monique bellowed. I laugh.
“Really, what does he look like,” Alana asked.
“You’re probably going to see him soon,” I smile.
“Thanks for your hint,” she says and heads down to her next class. I turn around to go to Trigonometry class when I see Shane. I smiled at him. Instead of smiling back, he ignores me and turns the other direction. I shrug and went into the trig class.
“Uh I hate biology,” Alana groans. “We’re going to take a blood test; I mean imagine people who have AIDS.”
“Right, you think a teenager is going to have AIDS,” Monique joked. I was giggling. Alana looks above my shoulder. I look at what she was looking at. She was looking at the new kid, Shane.
“What, you’re into this new kid who is way younger than you,” I exclaim. Alana rolled her eyes. She looks a lot like mom: her prettiness, her innocents, her green eyes, and how popular she is in this school. Then me, I’m nothing like mom, I’m more like dad: his awkwardness and his annoying attitude.
“Gosh, Alex, I was only looking at him, it’s not like I’m gonna imprint on him,” Alana says sipping her apple juice.
“Guys, I’m so sorry I’m late,” Jeffrey says taking his seat right next to Monique.
“Little bro, Jeff, you shouldn’t be such a nerd,” Monique whispers to her brother, Jeff.
“Big sis, Monique, you shouldn’t be such a retard,” he answers back. Monique eyes turn jet black, which mean she’s piss.
“Take it easy,” I whisper reminding her that we are in a cafeteria. Her eyes turn back brown.
Jeff laughs. “You won’t mind if another person joins us, right?”
Monique and I shrug and Alana says whatever.
“Shane come,” Jeff calls out to the new kid. I roll my eyes.
You’re piss aren’t you, Alana asks me through telepathy. I mean really everybody have been talking about him since like what, the beginning of the day already, aren’t they like sick of it because I definitely am, I answer.
Dude you’re jealous, Monique thought interrupting our conversation. Should I? I mean what am I jealous of that he has a shorter life than me and that he would grow old, or something like that I can’t have, I thought.
“Hey,” Shane greets.
“Hi,” Monique says. “I’m Monique, this is Alana,” she introduces pointing to her and then to Alana. “I believe Alex won’t introduce herself, so I might as well introduce you to her as well. This is Alexa, but we call her Alex for short, not that it makes a different by one letter.”
I ignore her. “Hi, I’m Alexa, but I prefer you calling me Alex.”
“Hi Alex, Alana, and Monique,” he says. He sounded like some kind of robot. Alana chokes on her juice and she’s laughing. You read my thoughts didn’t you?
Alana: I sorry, but I was just curious. You’re jealous. She’s smirking now at me. I give her back a smile. You know what I gonna block my thoughts from now on whether you’re here or not, I thought sending it to her. She shrugs. Shane and Jeff looks at us confused.
“Are you guys using telepathy,” Jeff asks picking up his hot dog.
“Shut up, Jeff, eat your hot dogs,” Monique says. Alana nearly spit out all her juice.
“Hot dogs, right,” Jeff smiles and Alana is cracking up. I look over at Shane, he’s laughing along with them. So fake, I thought. Alana laughs again. I totally forgot to shield my thoughts. I ignore her and continue with my lunch.
“You’re such an ass,” I say to Alana. She shrugs.
“You can’t do anything about that,” she whispers and nudges me on the shoulder. I didn’t get to say anything back to her since the bell rang already like a minute ago. I ignore her and ran upstairs to biology.

Stories:Excerpt 5
“Yes, I will, I would love to be a lawyer,” he said patting his chest with his good hand. I laughed and so did Carson.
I remembered how Lyn did the same thing I did to Ned when I got hurt. Ned must of saw me frowned.
“Mally, don’t be sad,” Ned whispered patting my head with his good hand.
“I wish,” I said and putted everything away.
“Well, at least you have Ned Welch here,” he said smiling at me. “Not everybody have me as their cousin.”
I smiled. “Alright, don’t get your other hand bruised up and I’m going to be glad.”
Ned winced when I said I hope he doesn’t bruise up his other hand.
“I won’t I promised, as long as you’re happy,” he promised proudly. I smiled and went out the door. Carson followed me because he was right behind me after I put the first aid kit back to where it was supposed to be.
“So are you alright,” he asked.
I smiled, but a fake one. “Yeah, why won’t I?”
“Kristi told me what happen,” he said and he caught my surprised look. “Like she didn’t want me to mention anything that would you know... cause problems for you.”
I nodded. “Yeah, whatever.”
“I’m going to go back to Ned,” he said still looking at me. I nodded again and closed the door behind me.
I was wondering how I would react if it was Lyn or the old me. I would have probably flirted with him already, begging him to ask me on a date, but I knew it wouldn’t happen now because I’m starting a new life with no Lyn, no parents, no friends and no one that loves me. Where the old me has Lyn, my parents, a whole school as my friend, and everybody that loves me.
I shut off my laptop and decided to take a nap since I didn’t have the best sleep ever.
I could see her face. I could see how she’s all bloody and how she’s screaming. She’s whispering words to me, but I can’t hear any because the windows are blocking her voices. I could see my reflection and that I’m crying.
“Lyn,” I called, but she doesn’t answer me. Instead, she continues on her words. I couldn’t understand each word she was saying, but I made out the last few words. BE CAREFUL. I screamed. I don’t why I screamed, but I did.
I woke up and find myself sweating again, but this time I was sobbing. I rushed into the bathroom and washed up. I stared at my reflection and noticed that my skin was pale and I looked like I was going to puke. My hair was a mess, so I tied it up to a messy ponytail.
I opened the door and found Carson. “Hey.”
“Hey, are you alright,” he asked. “I heard you screamed.”
“Yeah, nightmares.”
“You look really sick,” he informed. “But you still look pretty.”
I smiled. If I was like my old self I would have jumped out of my pant already. I nodded. “Yeah, pretty loud, huh.”
“Well, not really, but Ned heard it too,” he informed. “He said you were like that last night too.”
“Yeah, I seem to notice that too,” I snapped.
We were silent.
“Sorry, I’m not in a mood for a talk,” I apologized and put my hand on my forehead.
“Yeah,” he said. The front door opened and closed.
“It’s probably Kristi,” I said and I headed down the stairs.
“Hey,” I greeted and saw Kristi lying there on the couch.
“Hey, real tired, I swear I can’t wait until we get back to school,” she said kicking her shoes off. “If it wasn’t for Ned I would never work that late on my summer break, where you’re supposed to have fun.”
I nodded and noticed that now I moved in, I made things harder for her. “Maybe I could get a job or something.”
She sat up. “No, no it’s fine, I didn’t meant you, it’s mostly Ned nothing to do with you.”
“And it’s also my parents fault for giving birth to Ned at the age of fifty something and then said that they should go around the world. I mean really my parents are fags.”
“Really Kristi, I’m still going to live, I can’t just end my life because my sister died and I survived,” I said. “I can’t be like that; it’ll totally be screw up.”
“Oh, I was afraid, you know, that you won’t get over it,” she said. I smiled. Running came into the room and we both knew that it was Ned. He jumped onto Kristin’s lap.

Stories: Excerpt 4
“Nothing,” he said. “You’re late.”
“Don’t let me hear that again,” Kristi instructed. “Bye.”
I opened the door for her. “Thank you,” she whispered as she passed by me. “I hope you have a good day.”
I nodded. I hoped that I would have a good day, but I know that it was nearly impossible. I closed the door behind and took the dishes to the sink.
“Mally,” Ned called.
“Yes,” I said, turning around.
“Are you upset?”
“Why?”
“I heard you screaming last night, did you see the monster under your bed,” he asked sounding innocent. I knew Kristi didn’t tell him what happened.
“No, I didn’t see the monster, I just had a bad dream,” I whispered turning back to do the dishes.
“Oh okay, it you do just tell me,” he said climbing up the stairs slowly since his legs were so short. “I’m going to be in my room.”
I nodded thinking about my dream from last night. I knew it wasn’t a dream though. I finished the dishes quickly and was about to head off to my room when the door bell rang. I remembered that the babysitter was going to be here today.
“Carson,” I heard Ned shouted. He seemed excited to see this Carson guy, just like how I use to be when I see Lyn. I opened the door and found a man, well not basically a man, leaning against the brick wall. He had light brown hair and dark olive green eyes. I smiled.
“I’m Mallory, just moved in,” I introduced.
“I’m Carson, Ned’s babysitter,” he replied. Ned came running to the door like a maniac. He jumped into Carson’s arm and Carson lifted him up like he was nothing.
“Carson,” he shouted and fiddled with Carson’s shirt. Carson carried him into the house and put him on the counter top. Ned compared to Carson was nearly nothing.
“So I’m finish with my job, I’m going to be in my room if you need me or anything,” I told Carson. He nodded and turned back to play with Ned. I climbed the stairs two at a time.
I settled into my chair and turned on my laptop. I remembered how Lyn told me that if you’re unhappy or anything you should write it out and express it on paper. I used to think it was stupid; I mean seriously expressing your words to paper is like talking to the paper.
I logged on to my blog. I scrolled down the page and clicked on new entry.
Day 215,
Today is 215 days since Lyn died. I had a dream about what happened the day of the accident, except that I know that it wasn’t a dream. Everyday, I’m nearly lifeless and every minute seems like hours or days, I’m really tired of this. Kristi seems really nice to me, but I just can’t take it that she is just so nice and... unafraid of me. Aunt Sarah was afraid of me because I tried to kill myself. Uncle Jim was afraid of me doing something to his son and daughter. No matter how much Kristi loves me, I know that deep inside her fear wins over her love. Nobody likes me not even myself.
I shut of the window as Carson opened the door behind me.
“Sorry, I kind of forgot to knock, but I was wondering wear the first aid kit is,” he asked.
“Are you hurt,” I asked standing up from the desk.
“No, no it’s not me,” he said guilty. “It’s Ned.”
I nodded. “He seemed like a child that would be getting hurt a lot from his jumpiness.”
I brushed past him and went in to the bathroom. I forgot what Kristi told me where the first aid kit was, but I happen to know where it was. Nothing makes sense in my life.
“Found it,” I said holding the first aid kit. “Where is he?”
“He’s in his room,” he said turning around and leading me to Ned’s room.
Ned was on the floor holding his bleeding finger like it was poisonous. I kneeled beside him.
“How could you get hurt in a room so small like this,” I asked taking peroxide out along with a Q-tip. I put it over the cut and got out a bandage.
“Hmm... Kristi didn’t say that you can’t get hurt in a small room,” he answered.
I smiled. “You’re going to be a good lawyer when you grow up, I mean like if you become one.”
“Don’t let me hear that again,” Kristi instructed. “Bye.”

Stories: Excerpt 3

“Did you have a good night sleep,” Kristi asked. I nodded and took a seat at the table. The floors started to shake as Ned ran into the room with his chubby looking legs.
“Ned,” Kristi shouted, crossing her arm across her chest. “What did I teach you?”
“Yes, sissy, never to run in the house,” he replied and took a seat right next to me. He gave me the biggest smile ever that made me smile back. Ned swung his tiny, small legs onto the chair, but he couldn’t the chair was too tall for him. Kristi came over and lifted him to the chair. He groaned.
“Why are these chairs so tall,” he asked looking at Kristi.
Kristi groaned like she was in pain. “God Ned you’re only four, how much shorter do you want these chairs to be.”
I smiled as Ned frowned and Kristi groaned again.
“So Mallory what are you going to do today,” Kristi asked putting the sunny side egg onto the plate.
“I, uh, haven’t thought about it,” I said. “Yet.”
Ned shook his head. “Mally, you’re supposed to stutter when you answer someone.”
He made me a cute little nickname. Mally.
Kristi gave him a glared. “Krisi, you’re the one that taught me that,” Ned answered to her glare.
Kristi rolled her eyes. “Would you stop calling me Krisi, it sounds like some kind of... cereal.” She frowned realizing what she said.
Ned shrugged.
“Oh yeah, Mallory, Carson is going to come over later to baby-sit Ned-dy,” Kristi informed and said Ned’s name to Neddy.
I smiled and nodded.
“Kisi, I think you’re late,” Ned said pointing at the clock with his chubby fingers. Kristi slapped her forehead with her hand. “Oh god, I forgot.”
She stumbled upstairs to get change, but then she stopped at the middle of the stairs. “Did you just call me Kisi?”
Ned nodded.
“Eww, it sounds like I’m making out with someone, Kiss-si,” she said again frowning at the way she’s pronouncing it.
Ned closed his eyes. “You’re very late.”
“Holy crow,” she shouted and she fled up the stairs again.
Ned looked at me. “Do you talk?”
I smiled. “Do I look like I talk?”
“You can’t look like you talk,” he said, but then he shrugged. “Maybe you can because I see your mouth moving.”
“Well then I am,” I whispered to him proudly and he giggled.
Kristi appeared at the kitchen again. She motioned her finger toward me. I climbed out of the chair and went to her. “That’s the IQ of four years old boy.” I smiled.
“Hey, no gossiping young ladies,” Ned said shaking his pointer. “It’s a no no.”
My smile turned bigger.
“Okay behave with Mallory and Carson will come later,” she instructed. “Yeah behave with him too.”
“Dang,” he whispered.
“What did you just say,” Kristi asked starring at him with horror.

Stories: Excerpt 2
“Let go,” I moaned as the person dragged me down the road. I couldn’t see Lyn anymore, but I could still see the car, how it was flipped over and that’s when I noticed that oil was leaking out of the car. I remember how car explodes when oil leaks out in movies. I screamed, shouting Lyn’s name, and I scratched the person’s hand.
He cried. It was a man.
“Let me go,” I screamed again. “Please.”
But he ignored me.
“Please,” I begged again, looking at the car. Then fire blazed up from the end of the car. I screamed, kicking everywhere. Then the fire went to the front of the car, where Lyn was. I cried her name, but I couldn’t see her.
The car exploded. I screamed at the top of my lung. And then I was knocked out.
I screamed, sitting up on my bed. My breath was unsteady and I was sweating all over. I was heaving.
The door slammed open. Kristi ran in and leaped onto my bed.
“Are you alright,” she asked. I tried to swallow, but my throat and lungs burned.
“I’m... fine,” I said managing the words out since my throat is on fire.
“I heard you screaming, I was afraid...,” she started.
“I’m fine, just a bad dream,” I answered trying to comfort her. I knew that I have given her a lot of trouble ever since I moved in.
She pleaded with her eyes. “Please, Mallory, it was not your fault... for... what happen, just don’t... blame yourself.”
I looked out the window as the moonlight shine through my window. “You should go back to sleep, you have work tomorrow.”
She smiled. “Yeah, I do, good night.”
She tucked me under the covers. “Good night,” I whispered and I watched as she took one last peek at me before closing the door.
I slept on my side and continue to look out the window. I shut my eyes as I listened as the wind blew against my window.
He cried. It was a man.

Stories: Excerpt 1
Sorry the pages are not working so I decided to post it as a new post...
Excerpt:
We’re chatting as we enter the dark tunnel. I laughed at her stupid jokes about immortals, how she did her research and what she found out. She turned out of the tunnel and that’s when she sees it. A dog popping out of nowhere. She spins the steering wheel and the whole car is whirling. I screamed grabbing onto the handle at the top of the car, but it didn’t seem to hold me up thought. I slammed my head against the window as the balloon pops in front of my face; my face dripping from blood where I hit my head.
I moaned.
“Lyn,” I called, but she didn’t answer. The car moved again and I hit my head again on the window, but only this time darkness caught me.
The next thing I know is that I’m outside of the car and my head is bleeding like hell. I moaned and groaned, until I realized that Lyn was still in the car. She was patting against the window slowly and blood dripping from her arm to her hand. My eyes widen remembering what happened. She was still tapping on the window of the car hoping that I could save her since I’m outside, but the only problem was that I don’t recall climbing out of the car. I tried to stand, but my legs were like jello. Instead, I motioned toward Lyn, then someone from behind yanked me back and I saw Lyn screaming, hitting the window harder. I struggled to break free, but whoever it was, was too strong beside that I had a concussion on my head.
