Present: Chapter 1
March 28, 2010
I walked into Memorial High with hundreds of eyes looking at me. That’s the new girl right, she looks fine at least. I smiled and kept going. What the hell, she’s looks screw up. I snickered and landed in front of the front office, at least that’s what they call it instead of main office.
“Excuse me,” I said standing in front of the desk where there was no one. Suddenly, a woman sat up from the floor.
“Are you alright,” I asked. She had blond short hair and she was wearing one of the sixties dress. I was starting to think that I made a wrong choice to enroll into this school.
She pushes the hair on her face away. “Yes,” she said and she straightens the papers on her desk up. “How can I help you?”
“I’m new here, and I’m here to get my schedule,” I answered. She looked at me. She seems fine maybe I shouldn’t give her a hard time, she thought. I smiled. Uh why is she giving me this smile it creeps me out, maybe I should give it to her and kick her out of here.
“Okay, sweetie, you have English first,” she said and she handed me a piece of paper. “If you have any problems please come here and I would love to help you.” Please don’t come back, you’re creeping me out.
I gave her my creepy smile to her again before leaving the office. Maybe I could haunt her as long as I am here. I climbed up the stairs and I have to say the stairs are pretty stressful, but it didn’t bother me a bit. I was at the fifth floor within a minute. There was nobody in the hallway, so I guess I was late, I hurried and rush to 508. I opened the door once I got there.
Mr. Kingston, the English teacher which I knew already before he even introduce himself, looked at me and then study me. “Yes,” he finally said after studying me. I heard few of the students laughing.
She’s hot, wonder what her name is?
“I’m Alexa Greene, the new student,” I introduced and answering the question for whoever asked that.
“Alexa Greene,” he repeated and looked in is his attendance sheet. He picked his head up. “Yes, I remember, please take a seat in the back of the classroom.”
“Thank you,” I whispered and walked to my seat at the back corner of the room. My favorite seat. As I walked down the aisle, a girl called Karri thought: A new girl alright, maybe I should make her embarrass or something like that on the first day. How about tripping her? She sticks out her leg in the aisle as I passed be. I was going to give her a surprise. I walked right into her leg like I didn’t notice and I dragged her with me as I passed by. She fell onto the ground with a thud.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t see your leg,” I apologized and I gave a smirk.
“Are you alright,” Mr. Kingston asked.
Karri’s face was red with embarrassment. “Yes.” She got up and slammed herself onto the chair. I continued down the aisle and sat down on my seat.
That Alexa is awesome. Totally love her for kicking that bitch Karri’s ass. I love her...
I smiled and copied the notes on the board.
After English, I got up from my seat and was about to head toward the door, but Karri stopped me.
“So freak face, I think you own me something,” she said. I studied her. She wanted me to say I’m a freak and I am so sorry for embarrassing her in front of everybody. There was no way she was going to make me say that.
“Stay away from her,” I heard shouted from behind. A girl came up and stand besides me. “Leave her alone,” she said.
“Shut up, Leeann,” Karri said laughing along with her group and they walked away.
“Thanks,” I whispered to her after Karri’s group left.
“You welcome,” she said. “I’m Leeann Carroll.”
“I’m Alexa, but I prefer you calling me Alex.”
“Hi, Alex, when do you have lunch,” she asked and she took out her schedule sheet to see when does she have hers.
“Fifth period,” I answered without looking at my paper.
She stared at me for a moment. “Wow, you memorized that already, I mean I have been in school for two weeks already and I still don’t remember what I have next period. By the way, I have lunch fifth too, so do you mind if we sit together?”
I nodded. “Sure, why not?”
She smiled. “Okay, I’ll see ya soon.” She headed down the hallway and walked the opposite direction from her.
I got into technology class just on time; I really don’t want to be late again. I went up to the back of the room, which is weird for where a teacher is sitting.
“Can I help you,” she asked looking away from her laptop.
“I’m the new student, Alexa Greene,” I introduced. She nodded.
I hate cute girls, they piss me off, she thought. “I’m Ms. Telic.”
“Take a seat in Pulley’s place, sitting next to Carson,” she said. “And Pulley since you talk a lot you may sit in the back of the room in front of me.”
Everybody started to crack up. I smiled along and went to my seat.
“Okay guys we’re going to start the midterm project starting from today. Your partners would be the one that are you are sitting right next to,” Ms. Telic announced.
I turned to my right. “Hey, I’m Alex.”
“Hi, I’m Carson,” he whispered back.
“Right you have no last name, don’t tell me it’s Carson Drew,” I joked.
He smiled. “No, Carson Penn. I’m not in the Nancy Drew series.”
I laughed. “So what do you do for the project?” I already knew what was it on by reading Ms. Talic’s mind, but I wanted some conversation on.
“Oh for that, I have to make a website and in it you have to pick a topic on what you want to do and then you start making the web for the topic you picked,” he explained. I stared at him confused; I caught his mistake when he said I.
“I,” I repeated again.
He smiled. “Sorry, I meant we.”
“So what do you want to do it on,” I asked. “Person, place or thing.”
“Nope, it’s people, a group of people,” he answered. I studied him, trying not to read his mind.
“We’re going to do it on witches, wizards, and immortals.”
I flinched a little. I guess I startled him too, because he held out his hand for me.
